MOULI Grater antique rotary hand-crank grater for cheese, nuts, chocolate 1940's
MOULI
This vintage kitchen tool is a Mouli Grater, a classic rotary hand-crank grater primarily used for cheese, nuts, or chocolate. [1] Invented by Jean Mantelet—the founder of the French company Moulinex—this specific model was produced in France between the 1940s and 1950s. It features a steel body with a rotating drum and, in this instance, a characteristic red wooden handle. A manual rotary system that can be disassembled for easy cleaning and often reassembled for both left- and right-handed use. Markings: These graters are typically stamped with Made in France and multiple U.S. patent numbers (such as 2,271,175). Function: It is highly effective for hard cheeses like Parmesan, as well as spices or herbs. In good antique condition. Great showpiece
