Pure Domestic Cocoon Matsuoka Hime
This is a solid color kimono fabric (iro-muji tanmono) made from Matsuoka Hime, a rare, purely domestic silk that accounts for less than 1% of the silk distributed in Japan.
As it is said to be the pinnacle of silk, its luster, the way it drapes when worn, the play of light and shadow when it moves, and its texture are all superb.

The dyeing is also excellent. The color, achieved through gradient dyeing, is a deep purple with a hint of navy (if a color name were to be used, Shikon might be the closest, but the purple is not strong. Photo #◎ is close to the actual color).
It is said to be a color that imparts a dignified and noble image.

I purchased this with the intention of having it tailored, and after the initial preparations were made, I suddenly realized I already owned a similar color. I had the tailoring process halted before the family crest could be added. Since it has already undergone guard processing, you will not incur that cost when you have it tailored.
