Vintage Comic Postcard Lot of 3 Risqué Humor Walt Munson General Comics

This unique lot features three vintage comic postcards showcasing the mid-century American sense of humor. The set includes a classic Walt Munson illustration titled Gosh! You Should See My Sun Tan! featuring a woman at her vanity, a playful beach scene titled The Hot Sun Will Put A Healthy Glow On Your Cheeks, and a humorous medical-themed card titled Oh! Doctor! What's Good For A Hangover? These cards are excellent examples of the 'linen era' style of printing, characterized by vibrant colors and a textured surface that captures the whimsical and often risqué nature of the period. Produced by General Comics, these cards are quintessential examples of mid-20th-century Americana. The illustrations utilize bold line work and a warm color palette to deliver lighthearted visual gags. Each card features a standard postcard back with a designated space for a one-cent stamp and address, making them a fantastic addition for collectors of comic art, vintage stationery, or cultural ephemera. These pieces provide a fascinating glimpse into the social humor and artistic styles of the 1940s and 1950s.
