Handmade Black Reidan (Memorial Tablet) - 1 piece, White Wood Reidan - 6 pieces
Size: Height 14.5 cm, Width 2.8 cm

The Reidan for a Kuri-dashi Ihai (pull-out memorial tablet) typically reads ○○家先祖代々之霊位 (Spirit of Ancestors of the ○○ Family). In Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, to avoid expressions like spirit or soul, it is common to write ○○家先祖代々 (Ancestors of the ○○ Family).

How to Write and Precautions:
1. Front Tablet (First Tablet):
Usually, it is written as ○○家先祖代々之霊位.
In Jodo Shinshu, it is written as ○○家先祖代々 or ○○家之位牌.
The back is generally left blank.
This tablet is placed at the very front for veneration.
2. Second Tablet and Onward:
Enter the deceased's Kaimyo (Buddhist name), date of death, secular name, and age at death (享年).
If you have older memorial tablets, it is best to refer to their layout.

The order of the Reidan for a Kuri-dashi Ihai is basically to place ○○家先祖代々之霊位 at the very front, followed by the tablets arranged in order of death date (date of passing).

Number of Reidan:
The number of Reidan that can be stored varies by product. Generally, there are ones for 10 spirits (9-12 Reidan) or 20 spirits (18-24 Reidan).
Other Sects: Kuri-dashi Ihai are used in major Buddhist sects other than Jodo Shinshu (such as Tendai, Shingon, Jodo, Soto, Rinzai, Nichiren, etc.).
