Retro Showa Era Watch CITIZEN Cosmotron X8 Electronic Balance Wheel Watch Manufactured April 1970 (Showa 46) Rare black dial with orange indices This is the Cosmotron X8, an electronic wristwatch released in October 1969, before quartz watches became widespread. It is neither quartz nor mechanical. It features an electromagnetic balance wheel system that ticks away time by electrically driving a balance wheel powered by a battery. Enjoy the sweeping second hand movement, similar to a mechanical watch, despite being battery-powered. The battery was replaced last year.
