* Akadamatsuchi and Fuji Sand have been sieved to remove fine dust.

?Hard Akadamatsuchi (Two-line)
This is the highest grade Akadamatsuchi, which is hard and resistant to crumbling, and is blended as a base soil. It crumbles less easily than other hard Akadamatsuchi or baked Akadamatsuchi. It is a slightly acidic soil with very little nutrients and a good granular structure that allows for good aeration, making it ideal for moss.
?Perlite
When mixed throughout, it provides uniform water retention.
?Fuji Sand
This is finely ground volcanic rock. Its porous nature makes it easy for moss's rhizoids to attach.
?Charcoal
It adjusts the pH to prevent the soil from becoming too acidic and also adsorbs and purifies waste products from the moss.

[Soil Suitable for Moss Terrariums]
1. Nutrient-poor soil
Moss does not require a lot of nutrients.
2. Clean soil
Since it will be grown in a closed glass container, use the cleanest soil possible. Undecayed organic matter such as dead leaves can cause mold to grow.
3. Granular soil
Granular soil allows air and water to penetrate more easily than clay-based soil.
4. Slightly acidic soil
Strictly speaking, the preferred soil pH varies by moss species, but most mosses used in moss terrariums prefer slightly acidic soil.
