This is a Habutae umbrella, approximately 40 years old.
I am listing it in the hope that someone who needs it will use it.
It was one of the traditional wedding dowry items in the Showa era. At the time, it was purchased for use when wearing a kimono on a rainy day. It was never used.

Habutae refers to a high-quality Janome-gasa (snake-eye umbrella). It features a durable covering material called Habutae, made by layering thinly processed handmade Japanese paper and a thin pure silk fabric over 46 light bamboo ribs.

The slender wooden handle, finished in black lacquer, is wrapped with rattan at the grip, and the interior of the umbrella is further enhanced with beautiful silk thread decorations for an artistic touch.

The umbrella opens in two stages.

Although unused, it has been stored for a long time, and upon opening it, I found several tears (Photos 10, 11, 12).
There is age-related deterioration. Additionally,
there are some odors and scuffs.
