Buffet Crampon, Prestige B♭ Clarinet

■ Buffet Crampon Prestige B♭ clarinet, a high-end model in the RC series (New retail price: approximately ¥1,000,000).

◎ This instrument was selected by Kenji Matsumoto, principal clarinetist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra [Image 2].

◎ Serial number in the 663,000 range, manufactured in 2015. Prestige clarinets from this period are made with carefully selected top-grade grenadilla wood, characterized by a rich resonance. The wood is said to be stable after approximately 10 years of aging.

◎ Apart from slight discoloration on the case latches and key surfaces, it is in beautiful condition with almost no signs of use.

◎ The instrument has been fully adjusted by Kokusai Gakki (Shinsaibashi, Osaka) before listing [Image 17].
The pads are in good condition; during inspection, one was found to be misaligned and was replaced. The cork on the lower joint has also been replaced (as it was starting to peel). There have been no cracks in the body to date.

◎ I played this instrument for about two years (2-3 times a week) because I loved its tone. After that, I purchased a Divine A clarinet, and once I also got a Divine B♭ clarinet, I hardly used this one anymore.
Hearing that new instruments are difficult to obtain due to rising prices, I decided to list this one while it is still in good condition. Please consider it.
