Description
Heavy cut glass bowl with a deeply mitered sawtooth crown rim. Hobstar and pinwheel medallions cover the sides and center, with wheel-cut floral and leaf sprays filling each panel between them. Weight and cutting depth are consistent with American Brilliant Period lead crystal, produced roughly 1876 to 1917. No maker's mark is present, so exact origin is unconfirmed. Glass wall measures about 1/2 inch thick and rings clearly like a bell when tapped, confirming lead crystal content. A few small chips (flea bites) are present on the rim points, and the base shows light scratching from age and use, both typical for a piece this old. Diameter is approximately 8 inches, height approximately 3.5 to 4 inches.
