Showa 60 Toshiba Electric Fan "I-Type Sayuri" with New Logo, Ambitious Design, Sky Blue, Perfectly Silent Operation

This is a retro Showa-era fan, Model I, released by Toshiba after the war. It's named Sayuri, possibly after a famous actress...

This retro Toshiba fan is an ambitious design, featuring the TOSHIBA logo in the center after the company transitioned from Tokyo Shibaura. Unfortunately, this logo is no longer in use. During this period, Toshiba established a design department and produced electrical products with outstanding designs that surpassed competitors.

The fan powers on, speed settings, oscillation, and tilt all function without issue.
The grease reservoir tank has been generously filled with grease, ensuring quiet and smooth operation without any strange noises. When the fan was turned on for one minute and then stopped, the blades continued to spin for 65 seconds due to inertia! The switch settings are 0, 1, 2, and 3, with 1 being high and 2 and 3 becoming progressively weaker. The switches operate with a firm, satisfying click, providing a sense of security. The wiring around the internal switches is also very robust.
The plug and power cord are color-coordinated and in beautiful condition.
It's primarily made of heavy steel with cast iron parts, finished with baked-on paint, making it extremely durable and likely to last for 100 years (personal opinion)!
The blades are also steel, beautifully finished with a smooth baked-on paint.
Typically, the front and rear blade guards are manufactured by winding a single iron wire in a continuous loop (one-stroke drawing), but this one is made by welding together rings of different diameters one by one.
This is a product where design took precedence over cost!
The four rubber feet on the base, used for stability, are not crushed and are still in good condition, so felt has not been applied to them. If you wish, felt can be attached before shipping to prevent scratching floors or desks.

As this is a very old item, we cannot offer a warranty, but we are offering it at a low price.
We have previously sold a different color of a similar fan, so please take a look for reference.
Its truly wonderful design blends seamlessly with modern interiors.
In the past, this sky blue color dominated the fan market.
We look forward to purchases from those who appreciate vintage items and understand their nature.
